Return To Normalcy

Alright, so here’s the scoop.

I got a job. I got a job at a local Century 21 franchise, actually. I initially applied for a position in sales but, apparently, they were more impressed with my experience in advertising and graphic design. Or at least someone was. So, I went in for an interview last Thursday and they had me complete a small IQ test. According to my current supervisor, there were only three other people they’ve ever recruited who scored better than I did and they included herself, our boss and some other big name in upper management. So, the next day, I was hired.

I was supposed to start work the Monday following but Dani and I already have all these appointments at the hospital (finally), so I had to reschedule my first big day for Tuesday. Good timing too. Monday was pretty exciting. We showed up at around 8:30 with her urine sample in hand, then went for another ultrasound and had some bloodwork done. And yes, we finally know what (or who) we’re having. A brand new baby boy. Phoenix.

Our little firebird’s been pretty active lately too. Seems like he’s gonna burst out all on his own once the time comes. I have a feeling he’ll turn out to be one fiery little runt. But we love him already.

That’s the best news of all but landing this job couldn’t come sooner either. Thing is, though, I’m not exactly happy there and I’m not sure if I will be later on. They’re in the process of establishing my own private office and purchasing all this equipment that I hand-picked just for the job but, to no surprise, I’m once again surrounded by unprofessionalism. Mom’s right though. Maybe I’m just feeling anxious and unsure because I just started. But I definitely see bumpy roads ahead. The sort of work they have me doing already is the exact reason why I wanted to get out of this field in the first place. Considering I’m now the sole in-house designer in charge of many of their publications, however, maybe I’ll have a chance to get my way for once.

Here’s to another crazy year!

For people with free will it is always not easy to be bossed over. So own business is a good idea. Go ahead. Good luck.

Misadventures Of A Vagrant T-Girl

There's plenty fun to be had. From the Cayman Islands, to London, to Phoenix and back again, Silky's been there, done that. But life's for the living and I ain't dead yet. Making vegans look cool, trannies sound sexy and delivering shit hot Electro is my deal. Loving my beautiful wife, nurturing my baby boy Phoenix and making my small mark on this jaded world of post-consumerism is my mantra. Friends, welcome. Guests, indulge. There's plenty fun to be had.
